Get to Know Me
The world of sports is full of fierce competition, and you are going to want the best coach in your corner.
Laurent has been skiing since he was 3 years old. He learned to ski with Isabelle Mir (Silver Medal Downhill at the 1968 Grenoble Olympic Games) and Annie Famose (Silver Medal Giant Slalom and Bronze Medal Slalom at the 1968 Grenoble Olympic Games). When he was 11, he competed in his first downhill event and was trained by Jean Vuarnet (Silver Medal Downhill at the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympic Games). At 12, he learned freestyle moguls, at 13, he stopped racing and started training in back country skiing. At 16, he became a certified instructor by the French Ski Federation and started working at l’Ecole du Ski Francais in Avoriaz. In the late 80’s, he skied with the Apocalypse ski team in les Arcs as a monoski (ski board) instructor. It is when Regis Roland introduced Snow Boarding to Laurent. All these different experiences made Laurent a very versatile skier.
When Laurent moved to the United States to pursue his hospitality career, he did not want to give up his passion and wanted to continue to share it by teaching skiing. Laurent went on to acquire his PSIA (Professional Ski Instructor of America) certifications. Laurent has since been teaching in Park City, Utah and Mammoth Mountain in California and he is currently sponsored by Salomon, Atomic, Bern and Gogglesoc.
